About Usa river

Usariver is greenish by nature and the land around is volcanic and wonderfully fertile with magnificent avocado trees, maize fields, or, further up the slopes of Mt Meru banana and coffee plantations.

Many people stay in Usa on arrival in Northern Tanzania because many of the hotels in this area are in quiet rural locations and it`s very conveniently placed for both airports (Kilimanjaro and Arusha) and for road transfers off to Tanzania`s northern parks. Usariver is very popular by hosting flower cultivation (Floriculture) whereby indigenous and foreign investors own several flower farms and this make Usariver so green compare to other parts of the country.

The town is at around 23 kilometers (14 miles) from east of Arusha City, the main hub of tourism in Tanzania.
Usa River lies mid way between Kilimanjaro Airport and Arusha.

The town itself is small and ramshackle and runs in a ribbon development along the main road and south to the River from which it takes its name.

Usariver host Makumira University, formerly Lutheran Theological College Makumira, which is the main campus of Tumaini University, the university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, established in 1997. It also host The MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation is a Danish Training Institute which is located in Usa River. The School of St Jude, a charity-funded school for the poorest children of the Arusha Region, has a campus in Usa River.
